    Meine lieben Freunde, in diesem turbulenten Krieg gibt es Gläubige, die statt zu ermutigen urteilen, manche sogar Israel beschuldigen.

    Deshalb ein paar Worte, um die Situation gemäß der Bibel zu erhellen.

    Das Volk Israel ist nicht das gerechteste in der Welt und auch nicht das beste unter den Völkern, aber es ist auch nicht das schlechteste (Jesaja 43,21). Das Volk Israel ist einfach das Volk, das der Schöpfer für sich selbst geschaffen hat.

    Die Beziehung zwischen dem Schöpfer und dem Volk Israel ist die eines Vaters zu seinen Kindern; er wird disziplinieren, er wird strafen, und er wird dies alles aus Liebe tun. Aber er wird sein Versprechen halten und sein Volk in sein Land zurückbringen und über es wachen, wie ein Adler über seine Küken wacht (5Mo 32,11). Wir können dies in allen Kriegen Israels sehen.

    Man hat vielleicht den Eindruck, dass dieser Krieg zwischen den Juden und den Arabern wie ein Krieg in Europa zwischen Russland und der Ukraine oder wie einer der anderen Kriege an verschiedenen Orten der Welt ist.

    Aber dies ist eine andere Art von Krieg! Der Feind kämpft gegen den Gott Israels, gegen den göttlichen Plan für das Volk Israel, gegen die Bibel (Psalm 83,1-5). Das Ziel des Feindes ist die Vernichtung des Volkes Israel und die Eroberung seines Landes.

    Lasst mich euch eine persönliche Geschichte erzählen. Einer meiner persönlichen Freunde, ein Pastor einer Kirche in einer amerikanischen Stadt, wurde von mir vor einem Jahr zu seinem Geburtstag gefragt, welches Geschenk er sich von Israel zum Geburtstag wünsche. Sein Wunsch war ein jüdisches Gebetsbuch (Sidur), er wollte die jüdischen Gebete in ihrer Tiefe verstehen und welchen Grund es dafür gibt. Von Zeit zu Zeit stellte er mir per E-Mail eine Frage über dieses oder jenes Gebet und die Gründe dafür.

    Vor drei Tagen schickte er mir eine wunderbare und ermutigende E-Mail, und ich habe beschlossen, sie mit euch allen zu teilen:

    Normalerweise beginnt das Volk Israel am letzten Tag von Sukkot, um Regen zu beten. (Es ist allgemein bekannt, dass im Land Israel nichts ohne Gebet geschieht.)

    Das Gebet geht wie folgt (seit Tausenden von Jahren):

    “…Er wird den Wind zurückbringen und wehen lassen und den Regen über uns kommen lassen…”

    Zwei Worte in diesem Gebet haben eine doppelte Bedeutung. Das eine, RUACH, bedeutet sowohl Wind als auch GEIST, und das andere, GESHEM, bedeutet REGEN und ein ebenso auch materiellen SEGEN.

    Und beachtet, wie dasselbe Gebet, besonders in diesen schwierigen und schrecklichen Tagen, immer wieder die beiden Worte ändert, wie folgt:

    “ER LÄSST DEN GEIST ZURÜCKKEHREN UND WEHEN, UND DER SEGEN FÄLLT AUF UNS.”

    In diesen Tagen, in denen wir sowohl vom Süden als auch vom Norden her angegriffen werden. Wenn viele Bürger, alte Menschen, Kinder und Soldaten von den Mächten des Bösen angegriffen werden.

    Der wiederkehrende Beschuss und die Alarme bringen das normale Leben zum Erliegen und man muss sich in einen geschützten Raum begeben.

    Zum Schluss noch einige ermutigende Themen:

    – Gerade heute, am Donnerstag, den 19.10.23, sind zweiundzwanzig neue Einwanderer aus den USA angekommen. Diese Einwanderer aus den USA sind trotz des Krieges gekommen, sie hatten die Möglichkeit, ihre Ankunft in Israel zu verschieben, aber sie haben darauf bestanden, und nicht nur das, sie wollen sich an den Kriegsanstrengungen beteiligen. Wir wünschen ihnen ein herzliches Willkommen, Gott möge sie segnen und unser himmlischer Vater möge sie beschützen.

    – Viele unserer Freunde auf der ganzen Welt schicken uns wunderbare, ermutigende E-Mails und fast alle fragen: “Wie können wir euch helfen?” Viele liebe Freunde und Brüder spenden und wollen Teil des Heiligen Werkes sein, um jetzt zu helfen.

    Wie wir im letzten Update angekündigt haben, werden wir einige der ermutigenden Briefe veröffentlichen, die ihr uns geschickt habt.

    Wir hier bei Sabra beten, dass der Gott Israels jeden einzelnen von euch segnen möge. Möge der Gott Abrahams, Isaaks und Jakobs seine Verheißung an jeden einzelnen von euch erfüllen, um euch zu ermutigen und eure Sehnsucht nach EINHEIT zu erfüllen (1. Mose 12,3).

    Möge der Segen des Allerhöchsten auf euch ruhen, eurer Familie und eurer Gemeinde.

    My dear friends, during this turbulent war, instead of encouragement, there are believers who are judging, some even blaming Israel.

    So a few words to shed some light on the situation according to the Bible.

    The nation of Israel is not the most righteous in the world, nor is it the best of the nations, but it is not the worst either. (Isaiah 43:21) The nation of Israel is simply the nation that the Creator made for Himself.

    The relationship between the Creator and the nation of Israel is that of a father to his children; he will discipline, he will punish, and he will do it all in the process of love. But He will keep His promise and return His people to their land and watch over them as an eagle watches over its chicks (Deuteronomy 32:11). We can see this in all the wars of Israel.

    The impression seems to be that this war between the Jews and the Arabs is like the war in Europe between Russia and the Ukraine, or like the different wars in different places in the world.

    This is a different kind of war! The enemy is fighting against the God of Israel, against the divine plan for the people of Israel, against the Bible (Psalm 83:1-5). The enemy’s desire is the destruction of the people of Israel and the taking of their land.

    Let me share with you a personal story. One of my personal friends, a pastor of a church in a city in America, I asked him on his birthday a year ago what gift he wanted from Israel for his birthday. His request was a Jewish prayer book (sidur), he wanted to understand the Jewish prayers in depth and what is the rationale? From time to time he would ask me a question by e-mail about this or that prayer and the reasons behind it.

    3 days ago, he sent me a wonderful and encouraging e-mail, and I have decided to share it with all of you:

    Usually on the last day of Sukkot, the people of Israel begin to pray for rain. (It is well known that nothing happens in the land of Israel without prayer).

    The prayer goes like this (thousands of years ago):

    “…He will cause the wind to return and blow and the rain to come upon us…”

    Two words in this prayer are double meaning. One RUACH is both Wind and SPIRIT, and the other is GESHEM, meaning RAIN and a second meaning material BLESSINGS.

    And notice how the same prayer, especially in those difficult and terrible days, keeps changing the two words, as follows

    “HE MAKES THE SPIRIT RETURN AND BLOW, AND THE BLESSINGS FALL UPON US.

    These days when we are really under attack from the south as well as from the north. When many citizens, old people, children and soldiers are being attacked by the forces of evil.

    The occasional shelling and alarms stop normal life and you have to go into a sheltered space.

    Finally, some encouraging themes:

    – Just today, Thursday 10/19/23, twenty-two new immigrants arrived from the USA. These immigrants from the U.S. arrived in spite of the war, they had the option to postpone their arrival in Israel, but they insisted, and not only that, they want to be part of the war effort. We wish them a warm welcome and may God bless them and may our Heavenly Father protect them.

    – Many of our friends around the world are sending us wonderful, encouraging emails and almost all of them are asking “How can we help you?” many dear friends and brothers are donating and wanting to be part of the Holy Work to help now.

    As we announced in the last update, we are going to publish some of the letters of encouragement that you have sent.

    We here at Sabra pray that the God of Israel will bless each and every one of you. May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob fulfill His promise to each and every one of you for your encouragement and desire for UNITY (Genesis 12:3).

    May the blessings of the Most High be upon you, your family and your community.

    Die Lage in Judäa und Samaria ist äußerst angespannt. Es gibt zahlreiche Versuche von Terroristen und palästinensischen Zivilisten, Aktionen der Sabotage, Morde und Verletzungen gegen Siedlungen und Zivilisten zu verüben.

    Die Terroristen bereiten sich in Moscheen darauf vor, Zivilisten und Soldaten in Judäa und Samaria zu verletzen.

    Erst gestern Abend bereiteten sie in einer Moschee in der Stadt Jenin einen Terroranschlag vor. Kurz bevor sie die Moschee verließen, griff ein israelischer Kampfjet die Gruppe an und traf sie.

    Im Gebiet der an den Gazastreifen angrenzenden Siedlungen wird immer noch nach Terroristen gesucht, und heute wurde tatsächlich ein Terrorist gefasst, der am ersten Sabbat eingedrungen war, und unter den Terroristen, die lebend gefasst wurden, fanden wir in ihren Händen Karten von Tel Aviv, Jerusalem und den umliegenden Siedlungen, einschließlich Militärbasen, für Besatzung, Kampf und Mord. Und eine weitere Nachricht wurde heute Morgen veröffentlicht: Ein 4-jähriges Mädchen wurde nach Gaza verschleppt, nachdem ihre Eltern ermordet worden waren.

    Im Norden entlang der libanesischen Grenze nehmen die Schießereien und Kämpfe zu. Immer mehr Bürger werden aus den Grenzgebieten in weiter entfernte Gebiete umgesiedelt. Es ist festzustellen, dass in den Geschäften mehrere Produkte fehlen und einige Läden geschlossen sind.

    Immer öfter hören wir von den heldenhaften Taten von Bürgern und Soldaten, die an jenem Sabbat (07.10.23) mit ihrem Leib und Blut eine noch viel größere Katastrophe verhindert haben.

    Der Antisemitismus und die Morde in Europa, den USA und an anderen Orten nehmen zu. Die Armee ist derzeit bereit, in Gaza einzumarschieren.

    ” Höre mein Schreien. Denn ich bin betrübt; erlöse mich von meinen Verfolgern, denn sie sind zu stark für mich” (Psalm 142,6).

    Juudeassa ja Samariassa tilanne on hyvin jännittynyt. Terroristit ja palestiinalaiset siviilit ovat tehneet useita siirtokuntiin ja siviileihin kohdistuneita sabotointi-, murha- ja vahingontekoiskuja.

    Terroristit valmistavat moskeijoita laukaisualustoiksi vahingoittaakseen siviilejä ja sotilaita Juudeassa ja Samariassa.

    Viime yönä, Jeninin kaupungissa, terroristit valmistautuivat moskeijassa hyökkäykseen, mutta juuri ennen kuin he lähtivät moskeijasta, israelilainen hävittäjäkone iski ryhmään.

    Terroristeja etsitään yhä Gazan kaistaleen lähellä olevien siirtokuntien alueilta, ja tänään saatiin kiinni yksi terroristi, joka oli tunkeutunut maahan ensimmäisenä sapattina.     Libanonin rajalla pohjoisessa ammuskelu ja taistelu on lisääntymässä. Kansalaisia siirretään enenevässä määrin turvaan pois raja-alueilta. Kaupoista puuttuu joitain tuotteita ja jotkut kaupat on suljettu.

    Kuulemme jatkuvasti lisää kertomuksia niiden kansalaisten ja sotilaitten sankarillisista teoista, jotka ovat heitä, jotka omalla ruumiillaan ja verellään estivät paljon suuremman katastrofin tuona sapattina (7.10.23).

    Euroopassa ja Yhdysvalloissa ja muuallakin esiintyy yhä enemmän antisemitismiä ja murhatekoja.

    The situation in the field:

    Judea and Samaria are highly tense. There are many attempts by terrorists and Palestinian civilians to perpetrate sabotage, murder and injury against settlements and civilians.

    Terrorists are preparing in mosques as a launching pad to harm civilians and soldiers in Judea and Samaria.

    Just last night, in the city of Jenin, they were preparing to carry out a terrorist attack in a mosque. Just before they left the mosque, an Israeli fighter jet struck the squad and hit them.

    In the area of the settlements bordering the Gaza Strip, terrorists are still being searched for, and in fact today a terrorist was captured who infiltrated on the first Shabbat, and among the terrorists who were captured alive, we found in their hands maps to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the surrounding settlements, including military bases, for occupation and fighting and murder. And another news was released this morning: A 4-year-old girl was taken captive to Gaza after her parents were murdered.

    In the cities of Israel, there has been the organization of citizen forces to protect the cities themselves from some of the local Israeli Arabs under the influence of Hamas, Hezbollah and the local Arab leadership.

    Local shooting and fighting is increasing in the north along the Lebanese border. More and more citizens are being moved out of the border areas and into more distant areas. It can be noticed that some of the products are missing from the shops and some of the shops are closed.

    More and more we hear about the stories of the heroic acts of citizens and soldiers who are the ones who prevented with their bodies and blood, a much bigger disaster, on that Sabbath (07.10.23.).

    There are more and more manifestations of anti-Semitism and acts of murder in Europe, the USA and other places. The army is currently ready to enter Gaza

      ” Hear my cry. For I am afflicted; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me”   (Psalm 142:6).

    Näinä päivinä meitä vastaan  hyökätään niin etelästä, Gazasta, kuin pohjoisesta, Libanonin ja Syyrian rajalta.

    Israelilaiset ovat nyt silmätysten raakojen vihollisten kanssa, joilta eivät ole turvassa vauvat, lapset, vanhukset eivätkä sotilaatkaan.

    Ajatelkaa, millaisessa jatkuvan epävarmuuden tilassa kansalaisemme joutuvat elämään joka päivä. Heidän on juostava pommisuojaan aina hälytyksen kuullessaan.

    Fyysiset ja henkiset vammat ja kuolematkin ovat jokapäiväisiä.

    Teurastettujen israelilaisten ruumiita on yhä tunnistamatta, yhä on perheitä, jotka eivät tiedä rakkaintensa kohtaloa. Kärsiviä ja tietoa odottavia perheitä on lähestyttävä varoen.

    Yhdysvaltojen presidentti vieraili tänään (18.10.23) Israelissa. Hän tapasi surmattujen omaisia, maan johtoa ja armeijan upseereita. Vierailunsa lopussa hän sanoi omalle kansalleen, Israelin kansalle ja koko maailmalle, että se mitä hän näki, oli Holokausti, ja että Hamas on pahempi kuin Isis.

    Inhottava ja julma vihollinen, joka esiintyy omissa silmissään ”sankarina”, tekee kaiken voitavansa kylvääkseen epätoivoa Israelin kansaan kauhistuttavilla videoillaan. He tietävät, miten pettää Länttä kertomalla valheita heidän omasta kärsimyksestään.

    Me, Siionissa asuva juutalainen kansa, olemme tottuneet taistelemaan yksin, ilman kenenkään apua, mutta kanssamme ja keskellämme on Taivaallinen Isämme. Hän on meidän kanssamme, ja Hän on luvannut: ”HERRA, teidän Jumalanne, kulkee teidän edellänne. Hän itse taistelee teidän puolestanne…” (5. Moos. 1:30). Israelin Jumala on Hän, joka loi taivaan ja maan ja joka hallitsee koko maailmaa. Hän auttaa, Hän ei lepää eikä vaikene… Hän ei torku eikä nuku, Hän, joka Israelia varjelee…

    Luoja Jumala koettelee maailman kansoja ja etenkin uskovia, jotka rakastavat Häntä ja ovat mukana Hänen suunnitelmassaan, jotka seisovat Hänen kanssaan Israelin kansan puolella selvällä ja näkyvällä tavalla, jotka rukoilevat Israelin puolesta, jotka ojentavat kätensä ja auttavat. Tämä on se hetki, jolloin jokaisen uskovan tulisi tutkia, mitä kukin voi tehdä Israelin kansan hyväksi juuri sillä paikalla missä he ovat, maassaan ja kaupungissaan. Siten toteutuu Jumalan pyyntö, siten toteutuu Jumalan käsky: ”Lohduttakaa, lohduttakaa minun kansaani…” (Jes. 40:1).

    Rakkaat ystäväni, olemme päättäneet jakaa joitakin rohkaisukirjeistämme juutalaisille täällä Israelissa, (ei opetus- eikä tuomionjulistuksen kirjeitä, vaan rohkaisevia, sillä sanavalinta on tärkeä).

    Rukoilettehan Israelin kansan puolesta ja Sabran puolesta!

    Muistakaamme kaikki sanoa heprean kielellä: ”AM ISRAEL HAI, OD AVINU HAI”. Israelin kansa elää, yhä elää meidän Isämme!

                ”Kiitospsalmi. Kohottakaa riemuhuuto HERRALLE, kaikki maa!

                Palvelkaa HERRAA iloiten. Tulkaa hänen kasvojensa eteen riemuiten.

                Tietäkää, että HERRA on Jumala. Hän on meidät tehnyt,

                ja hänen me olemme,  hänen kansansa ja hänen laitumensa lampaat.

                Tulkaa hänen portteihinsa kiittäen, hänen esipihoihinsa ylistäen.

                Kiittäkää häntä, ylistäkää hänen nimeään, sillä HERRA on hyvä,

                Hänen armonsa pysyy ikuisesti ja hänen uskollisuutensa polvesta polveen.”

    These days, when we are really under attack both from the south – Gaza, and from the north – the border of Lebanon and Syria.

    The people of Israel are facing cruel enemies today. On this front, babies, children, old people and even soldiers are being attacked.

    Think about the fact that the lives of the citizens, in their daily lives, are in a state of uncertainty. They have to run to the shelter every time they hear the alarm.

    Every day there are physical and psychological injuries and even deaths.

    There are still bodies of Israelis who were slaughtered and have not yet been identified, when the family still does not know the fate of their loved ones, but we must check carefully for the dear injured families waiting.

    Just today (10/18/23), in one of the burned and destroyed houses, the soldiers found a young mother and a child five years old. They had been slaughtered and burned in attic, for me as a Jew remind me the story of Anna Frank. More atrocities are being discovered every day.

    The President of the USA visited Israel today (18.10.23). He met with affected families, he met with leaders and army officers, at the end of the visit he told his people, the people of Israel and the whole world, that what he saw was during the Holocaust, and Hamas is worse than ICIS.

    The despicable and cruel enemy, who appears as a “hero” in his own eyes, is trying with all his might to sow despair among the people of Israel through horrific films. They know how to deceive people in the West by telling lies about their suffering.

    One of the lies told by the terrorists was: “the Zionist enemy” bombed the hospital and five hundred civilians were killed. Israel, as always, checked and investigated and found evidence to prove that this was false propaganda. The results showed that in the same area in one of the parking lots of all the vehicles, from there they tried to launch a rocket towards Israel and the rocket exploded there and indeed caused the vehicle but not as they said.

    While we are concentrating on the fighting in the Gaza area, the war is also on the horizon in the north, and fighting is already taking place, and some of the residents in the border areas are being evacuated. Today, it is clear to everyone that the terrorist organization of Hezbollah in Lebanon is even worse and more cruel than the Hamas organization. They have a lot of experience in committing atrocities in the civil war in Syria. We have seen their exploits among the civilians there.

    We, the Jewish people living in Zion, are used to fighting without anyone’s help, but with our Father in Heaven accompanying and among us. He is the one who is with us, and as he promised (Deuteronomy 1:30): “The Lord your God, who goes before you, will fight for you…”. The God of Israel is the One who created heaven and earth and rules the entire world. He is the One who will help, who will not rest nor be silent….He will not slumber nor sleep the watchman of Israel…,

    The same Creator is expecting and testing the nations of the world and especially the believers who love Him, who are connected to His plan and who stand with Him at the side of the people of Israel, in a clear and visible way. Who pray for Israel, who lend a hand and help. This is exactly the time when every believer will check what he personally can do in the place where he is, in his country, in his city, for the sake of the people of Israel. This will be the fulfillment of God’s request, and it will be the fulfillment of God’s command: “…comfort comfort  my people…” (Jeremiah 2:1-2).

    My beloved friends, we have decided to distribute some of your letters of encouragement among the Jews here in Israel (not letters of instruction, judgment, etc., just encouragement, the wording is very important).

    Please be in prayer for the people of Israel and for Sabra.

    We will all remember to say in Hebrew: “AM ISRAEL HAI, OD AVINU HAI” – “The People of Israel lives! Our Father still lives!

    Let’s all read together Psalm 100:
     “A Psalm of Thanksgiving, shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness, Com before Him with joyful singing. Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
    Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the Lord is good.
    For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.”

    Shalom kjære Sabra-venner

    Før jeg begynte på Oppdatering 4, mens jeg tenkte på den, hørte jeg på radioen at det 12.30 skulle være begravelse for en ensom soldat som ble drept denne uken. Det var ingen til å delta i begravelsen til denne soldaten. Forsvaret sendte ut en anmodning og spurte om man kunne komme i begravelsen og vise soldaten den siste ære. Siden begravelsen fant sted langt fra der jeg befinner meg, kunne jeg dessverre ikke være der. Etterpå hørte jeg at mange som ikke kjente soldaten i det hele tatt, ønsket å være til stede. Og selv om det er forbud mot å samle flere enn femti personer, var det mer enn tusen mennesker samlet. Jeg ble så rørt over den enhet vi ser overalt i denne vanskelige tiden for Israel!

    (Et av produktene vi trenger i slike nødssituasjoner, er batteriradioer. Ikke bare for å få informasjon om det som skjer ved frontene – noe som i seg selv er viktig. Men av og til mottar vi også instruksjoner fra Forsvaret og politiet, instruksjoner om hvordan vi skal forholde oss i visse situasjoner og hvordan vi skal gå frem.)

    I dag fikk jeg en telefon fra en tjenestemann i Forsvaret. Han ba meg sjekke mulighetene for økonomisk støtte til følgende formål:
    1.  Det er et presserende behov for medisinsk utstyr og medisiner til de sårede (antall sårede er spesielt høyt). Forsvaret trenger midler til dette.

    2.  Støtte til de såredes familier. Dette vil gjøre det lettere for dem å ta hånd om sine kjære.

    Schalom liebe Freunde von Sabra,

    Bevor ich mit Update 4 begann, hörte ich im Radio, dass um 12:30 Uhr ein einsamer Soldat beerdigt werden soll, der diese Woche getötet wurde. Es war niemand da, der an der Beerdigung dieses Soldaten teilnehmen wollte. Die Armee rief an und fragte, ob man an der Beerdigung teilnehmen und dem Soldaten die letzte Ehre erweisen könne; da die Beerdigung weit von meinem Wohnort entfernt ist, konnte ich leider nicht kommen. Im Nachhinein erfuhr ich, dass viele der Teilnehmer, die ihn überhaupt nicht kannten, teilnehmen wollten, und obwohl eine Versammlung von mehr als fünfzig Personen verboten ist, kamen mehr als tausend Menschen zusammen. Ich war so berührt von der Einheit, die wir in dieser schwierigen Zeit in Israel überall sehen.

    (Eines der Produkte, die wir in solchen Notsituationen brauchen, sind Transistorradios mit Batterien, und zwar nicht nur, um Informationen über die Geschehnisse an den Fronten zu hören, was an sich schon wichtig ist, sondern gelegentlich erhalten wir auch Anweisungen von der Armee und der Polizei, Anweisungen, wie wir uns in bestimmten Momenten verhalten sollen).

    Heute erhielt ich einen Anruf von einem der Armeebeamten. Er bat mich, die Möglichkeit von Spenden zu prüfen.

    1. Es besteht ein dringender Bedarf an medizinischer Ausrüstung und Medikamenten für die Verwundeten (die Zahl der Verwundeten ist besonders hoch). Zu diesem Zweck benötigt die Armee Spenden, die für diesen Zweck bestimmt sind.

    2. Spenden zugunsten der Familien der Verwundeten, um ihnen die Betreuung ihrer Angehörigen zu erleichtern.

    Shalom, rakkaat Sabran ystävät.

    Ennen kuin aloitin tämän tilannekatsauksen kirjoittamisen, kuulin siinä miettiessäni radiosta, että klo 12.30 pidettäisiin hautajaiset eräälle yksinäiselle sotilaalle, joka sai surmansa tällä viikolla. Tämän sotilaan hautajaisiin ei ollut tulossa ketään. Armeijasta soitettiin ja kysyttiin, voisinko tulla hautajaisiin esittämään viimeisen tervehdykseni tälle sotilaalle. Mutta koska hautajaiset pidettiin kaukana sieltä, missä minä olen, en ikävä kyllä voinut osallistua. Jälkeenpäin kuulin, että monet olivat tahtoneet osallistua hautajaisiin, vaikka eivät tunteneet sotilasta, ja vaikka yli 50 hengen kokoontumiset on kielletty, paikalla oli yli 1000 ihmistä. On koskettavaa nähdä tätä yhteyttä näinä vaikeina aikoina Israelissa.

    (Tällaisina odottamattomina aikoina tarvitsemme pattereilla toimivia transistoriradioita saadaksemme tietoja siitä, mitä rintamilla tapahtuu, mutta saamme myös joskus ohjeita armeijalta ja poliisilta, ohjeita siitä, mitä tulee tehdä tiettyinä hetkinä ja kuinka käyttäytyä.)

    Sain tänään soiton eräältä armeijan upseerilta. Hän pyysi minua tutkimaan mahdollisuuksia lahjoitusten saamiseksi:

    1. Haavoittuneiden hoitoon (haavoittuneiden määrä on erityisen korkea) tarvitaan kiireesti hoitotarvikkeita ja lääkkeitä. Armeija tarvitsee lahjoituksia, jotka käytetään tähän tarkoitukseen.

    2. Haavoittuneiden perheiden hyväksi, jotta heidän olisi helpompi pitää huolta rakkaistaan.
