A Drop of Light from Zion
Sabra Update #47
“How Great Are Your Deeds, O Lord!” (Psalm 92:5)
Shalom and blessings to all our beloved friends around the world,
Every time I am amazed anew at how the Creator of the world Himself seeks those who follow Him, touching their hearts to help and participate in the blessed work Sabra accomplishes among those in need.
Indeed, we live in challenging times. Though routine may prevail, it is a routine marked by ongoing struggle. Israel currently faces significant hardships compounded by an aggressive and deceptive media, often turning lies into truth and truth into lies. Yet, amid this confusion, faithful believers stand firm, fully committed to the Word of God and His eternal plan for Israel and the nations.
Thanks to your prayers, encouragement, and generous contributions, Sabra continues to accomplish far more than words alone can capture.
Supporting Education
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
- Bible Quizzes: Sabra annually hosts exciting Bible quizzes attended by enthusiastic students, parents, local authorities, and rabbis. The enthusiasm during these events reaffirms the timeless importance of God’s Word. This year, exquisite Bibles were awarded to winners, underscoring the spiritual significance.
- Backpack Distribution: In May 2025, we distributed backpacks filled with essential school supplies to students in need. Witnessing their joy was profoundly moving for everyone involved. By August, we plan to distribute an additional 350 backpacks ahead of the new school year.
- Continuous Student Support: Sabra provides ongoing aid five days a week and consistently works to enhance classrooms, ensuring all children feel valued and supported.

Helping Holocaust Survivors
“Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.” (Isaiah 40:1)
- Transporting survivors to clinics and providing translation support.
- Regular provision of food and medical supplies.
- Home visits to encourage survivors, especially celebrating birthdays with treats, fresh produce, companionship, and heartfelt encouragement.
- Celebrations of biblical holidays and commemoration events like Passover, Shavuot, and Holocaust Remembrance Day, offering survivors the valuable opportunity to share their stories, profoundly touching both survivors and international friends attending.
Supporting Families in Need
“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” (Proverbs 19:17)
- Weekly distribution of food packages to families from Ethiopia, Holocaust survivors, and new immigrants. A particularly moving example is our regular assistance to a family of five children with severe disabilities, whose gratitude touches us deeply every time.
- Continued support for Ethiopian-origin families and other families in need.
Our Beloved Volunteers
“Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments…” (Psalm 110:3)
Recently, we were blessed with volunteers from Germany and Finland, whose hard work significantly contributed to Passover preparations and food distributions. May God richly bless these dear volunteers abundantly, granting them continued strength, joy, and divine favor in all their endeavors.
Jewish Studies and Roots
“And many peoples shall come, and say: ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord… and He will teach us of His ways…’” (Isaiah 2:3)
- We held a significant Zoom seminar for brothers and sisters from Papua, strengthening their biblical understanding and connection to Israel.
- Sabra participated enthusiastically in a massive gathering of over 50,000 believers, where our dedicated Netherlands team effectively presented Sabra’s mission, bringing greater awareness and inspiring increased support.
Year 5786 Calendar Project
Friends worldwide continue to help edit and print the Sabra calendar for 5786, designed to inspire prayer and blessing for Israel, Sabra, and the individuals we serve. While these calendars are not sold, they are distributed as blessings, encouraging prayers for Sabra’s mission. Should you wish additional calendars as gifts for your community, please reach out to our local representatives.
Prayer for You:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for each beloved friend who partners with Sabra. Bless their lives abundantly with peace, health, joy, and provision. Strengthen their faith and grant them continued wisdom to follow Your perfect will. Protect them and their families, and let them experience Your unending grace and favor. Amen.
We deeply appreciate your continued partnership, prayers, and faithful generosity. Please share the story and mission of Sabra with your family, friends, and community so that together we can amplify this profound impact.
May the blessings of the Most High be upon you, your family, and your community.
From the House of Good Deeds (Sabra House), the Land of Zion, and the City of Jerusalem,
Your brother in Israel,
Mordechai ben Yaakov
